Short Biography

I was born 1972 in Barcelona and graduated in 1997 from the Barcelona School of Informatics of the Technical University of Catalonia (UPC) with a Degree in Informatics Engineering. From September 1996 to June 1997 I have been completing my studies as an exchange student at the Artificial Intelligence Lab. (AI Lab.) of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL). I joined the AI Lab. of the EPFL as a research assistant in 1997, and obtained a Ph.D. degree from th EPFL in December 2002 with a thesis entitled "Scalable Intelligent Electronic Catalogs".

In 1999, Prof. Boi Faltings, Dr. Pearl Pu, Dr. Christian Frei and myself launched a start-up company (Iconomic Systems S.A.) which goal was to commercialize and further develop the concepts of our research applied to the travel domain. From April 2000 to May 2001, besides my duties as co-founder of Iconomic Systems S.A., I have worked for the company as Technology Officer. In May 2001, Iconomic Systems S.A. was successfully took over by i:FAO A.G., and since then, I am working for i:FAO's Future Lab. as Project Manager.

Since December 2002 I am a Postdoc researcher (half time) at the AI Lab. of the EPFL and Project Manager (half time) for i:FAO's Future Lab.
